Your friends are not your network
Doing most things on your own is almost impossible. Two of you working together can achieve 4 times more than one, but in property investing two people is rarely enough. We started with four people who all shared a passion of working together as a team. We had worked together in the family business and it seemed logical to pool our resources. But four people didn’t seem enough either so we decided to seek outsiders. It didn’t happen overnight, but we did attract a few other people to our gatherings to share their own experiences with us. They in turn invited others and soon we had developed a hard core of 20 people, all interested in the same subject and yet all with differing ideas and ideals. It was great. We were all learning from one another.
That was when we started to experience the true power of ‘people networking. As a group we realised we had something that is extremely important. It is called “buying power.” We were attracting people in the property industry who needed to sell product. Not the little deals that are available to the average person, but little deals before they get offered to the general public. Deals where we received group discounts because as a group we offered the potential to buy more than one. As a group we had discovered “buying power.”

Because of the power of our group we found it easier to attract knowledgeable people from whom we could learn. People who had more knowledge than us and as a group we were therefore expanding our own financial intelligence.
We were beginning to realise why and how the majority of RICH people in the world built their wealth through real estate, because we were now in touch with people who do things the way RICH people do them. The expansion in knowledge was a massive eye opener. We could never see before how people earned enough to own huge houses and expensive cars, but now realised that they perhaps already knew the secrets we were learning – the secrets of making money through property investing can make anyone RICH.

Renovation Queen Irma hit a key note with “Do as little as possible” and “Get experts – they’re cheaper in the long run.”
Finance broker Maree was interesting as always with her input important to serious real estate portfolio builders. We need her updates to keep us up on new aspects of lending.
We always enjoy input from accountant and CPA Yuk because Super is confusing to most people but I think the message that “Freedom and growth are aspects better catered outside super” is getting across.
“When is my super contribution enough?” to aid understanding and clarify “Choice” on this question?

Ned - a profound source of knowledge and interesting speaker. A great insight for “non developers’ I enjoyed but had to fight the ‘lunch sleeps’ like some of the others.
The part on the banks / economy was fascinating – great! Some relief that our suspicions of ‘rising market ahead’ are supported by someone with greater insights.
Toney Fitzgerald, you really had your heart in all of it every moment and we got a lift from that.
Dave Dorian as always our mainstay and solid coverage of essentials keeps us “On track”. Great worksheets.
